The Mrs. Elephant tasting glass is a glass modeled on the Elephant 1948 glass which was a hit in 20023, nominated for the most commented event of the year in the world of whisky award, which place it took is not worth bragging about, it won over 70% of the votes. Guided by everything that is best in the elephant, and that is: brilliant aroma reproduction, quick opening of the bouquet and what is important despite the large dimensions, we are talking about a glass 20cm high and 220ml capacity, it was designed so that you can enjoy the aromas in it by pouring 20 ml and 100ml. After a year of use and almost only flattering opinions from people we value, knowing their knowledge and taste, we decided to create the Elephant's Wife, without demanding that it be better, it was to be half the size, more handy and yet not give in to the elephant in accumulating and releasing layers of aromas. The team of enthusiasts is the same as for the elephant. "The godfather of the glass is Paweł Wójcik - known in the tasting world for his uncompromising approach to whisky and the subject, who, together with Magas - better known in the world of home and craft distillers, fought with Walter - a restaurateur from Athens, and a technologist from a Polish steelworks, so that the wife would not give in to the elephant, and this was not easy. At first, the machines showed that it was impossible, despite the flat bottom, it is a much smaller glass, half of its predecessor. The trick with the narrowing, the appropriate height of the glass adjusted to the width of the bottom, etc. made us happy with the project, very happy. Time will tell how it will be received by a larger group of tasters of strong alcohols. Mrs. Elephant is a glass in which you can safely pour 10ml and enjoy the aromas without losing anything, and 50ml is in our opinion too much, well maybe max, of course if someone likes to pour 100ml-110ml to the brim it is none of our business, the glass was created so that a mini 50ml sample could be poured two to five times, being able to assess the full range of aromas. Let's go back to the capacity of the glass, what does it mean that it has 110ml, it means that when you fill it up to the brim, that's how much liquid will go in, the usable capacity is in our opinion from 10ml-40ml, 50ml max but that's already a lot, of course we're talking about tasting where we intend to look for aromas that are released over time, supporting ourselves with a small sip and returning to aromas again. etc., etc. To those who always nag us about the inconsistency of capacity, we remind you that measuring cylinders (with scale) are not always accurate and can be very misleading, and those that are accurate are scaled to 20°C, if your alcohol is frozen, the cylinder will show less, if hot more, it is most often scaled to 20°C. The glass is handmade in a Polish glassworks.
